NORDSTROM ANNIVERSAY SALE: POST #2

As most of y’all know– I have moved a few times since this blogging adventure started… each apartment and house has had a different look than the last. The one we live in now was the first that I realized that a boy would move into and so the taste definitely changed. I love warm neutrals and contrasting black, white and grey. These are timeless and classic, plus they’re gender neutral. I love when a home has a woman’s touch without making a man feel uncomfortable… if that makes sense. Anyway– we can have the discussion on home decor aesthetics another time.

This sale mainly focuses on clothing, but the marked down home decor is not to be skipped over. This is a great time to pull a room together that needs that little extra push (without breaking the bank). Home interior accessories can get pricey, so it’s important to think ahead and grab what you want/need while the price is right.  I loved some of these itemsms– from storage containers (cute enough to leave out) and hosting accessories– theres something in this sale category for everyone to add to their homes.

This is a *highly* skipped over category for most BUT something my mom taught me from a young age (hi, we’re southern)– it is sooo important to have a gifting closet/drawer with gifts, wrapping and cards for all occasions. You never know when a last minute invite will pop up to attend a bridal shower, a friends dinner party or maybe someone you love is having a bad day and needs a little pick-me-up. This is where having a gift on hand comes in good use. Wrap it up and be the best guest when you present your host with a thoughtful gesture. These are usually feminine, because I don’t attend many things hosted by a man… but, it might be a good idea to keep something on hand for them (maybe a bottle of bourbon?).

It’s easy to get caught up in a sale and forget to grab a few things for you favorite man because, let’s face it, he’s not shopping the sale. If he’s anything like my husband, he doesn’t know needs until, well, he needs it. So, I try and stay on top of it and keep him stocked in everything from clothes to travel. He is so low maintenance and pretty much the easiest human to shop for… most of the time he’ll say he doesn’t even need it. BUT I like to grab him a few things while the prices are this good. He already has this suitcase and uses it for almost every trip– I can’t believe the price right now!
